Unique restaurant tableware for the Renthof in Kassel
31. January 2020
Tafelstern is renowned in Germany and worldwide as a manufacturer of high-quality and unique restaurant tableware. In this blog, we give you an insight into the range of options for producing custom porcelain plates, bowls etc. We also share the results from our collaboration with Renthof Kassel, a property that with love and care was transformed from an old cloister into a very special hotel and restaurant business.
Unique restaurant tableware with bespoke pattern design
In the world of gastronomy, tableware serves as an eye-catching way to present food. Regardless of how good the food tastes, we mustn’t forget that the dish must also be a feast for the eyes. A special plate stays in people’s minds just as much as an exceptional menu. The pattern designs in the regular Tafelstern range are, of course, also visually appealing. However, today we want to focus on showing you the options available to hoteliers and restaurateurs who would like high-quality, unique restaurant tableware.
When developing new pattern collections, we work with trend scouts and designers from all over the world. Our creative pattern designs are influenced by interior design, popular colours and, of course, food trends. It is even possible to develop a unique pattern design tailored to the ambience of the room and the gastronomic concept. To achieve this, we always work closely alongside our customers and take their visions very seriously. You can read more about Tafelstern’s “custom pattern designs” here.
Custom pattern design for porcelain: What is the minimum number of items?
Custom pattern design development is available for orders of 300 pieces or more, which can include pieces from across the range. You are also welcome to draw inspiration from the latest Tafelstern pattern designs and adapt them to the colours and corporate design of your business.
Tafelstern porcelain: quality to match the highest demands in gastronomy
As professionals in producing high-quality porcelain crockery for the catering industry, we fully understand the daily rigours that our products have to withstand. Therefore, patterned Tafelstern tableware is:
- dishwasher safe: The pattern designs on our Tafelstern porcelain are made entirely from lead-free, environmentally friendly in-glaze colours. Upon firing at 1200°C, the in-glaze colours sink in and fuse together with the porcelain. This ensures that our decorated and undecorated hard porcelains are 100% dishwasher safe.
- suitable for microwave use: Both decorated and undecorated Tafelstern products are suitable for microwave use. (Exceptions: pattern designs that use precious metals, e.g. gold, silver, platinum)
- In addition, the colours in Tafelstern tableware pattern designs remain vivid, they don’t fade or change colour.
Renthof Kassel: unique restaurant tableware for an extraordinary hotel
Since its reopening in 2017, Renthof Kassel is a modern boutique hotel with an exquisite restaurant, bar and several unique event spaces. The building dates back to 1298, when it was originally built as a Carmelite monastery. During the extensive renovation, it was important to the owners that the original, historic character of the building was retained. Thanks to the combination of historical elements and modern interior design, today Renthof Kassel is a hotel with a special charm.
As with the interior design for the hotel,
great care was also taken in selecting the porcelain crockery for catering in
the restaurant. The bespoke pattern design was therefore developed and produced
in collaboration with Tafelstern. Mrs Ohlendorf from Renthof has this to say
about the collaboration:
“Collaborating with Tafelstern has been really straightforward for us. The company has cooperative, innovative and motivated employees, who deliver creative ideas quickly, thus making working together a real pleasure.”
